The Internet Coalition (IC) is a national trade association that represents internet and e-commerce members in state public policy discussions. The IC also serves as an informational resource, striving to protect and foster the Internet economy and the benefits it provides consumers.

Meet Our Staff

Tammy Cota

Tammy Cota is executive director of the Internet Coalition. Cota previously worked as executive director of a D.C.-based internet association and has lobbied on privacy, tax and e-commerce issues in the 50-states since the early 90s. Cota graduated summa cum laude from Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, where she studied computer networking and PC support. She is also an associate with LEONINE FOCUS, and has been a member of the FOCUS team in various roles since 1991, including representing clients before the Vermont Legislature regarding privacy, technology, tax, health care, recycling and product distribution.

Ezra Hagerty

Ezra Hagerty is a senior public policy analyst at LEONINE FOCUS. He currently tracks issues in all 50 states relating to technology, energy and consumer goods. He supports the Internet Coalition, analyzing and reporting on emerging issues affecting online commerce. A political science graduate of the University of Vermont, Hagerty helped launch a start-up and served in operations and business development capacities at two growth-stage financial technology companies. Hagerty is based in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and serves on the junior board of Careers Through Culinary Arts Program, a non-profit focused on education and job training in culinary arts for underserved youth.

Leif Johnson

Leif Johnson is a firm partner and President of LEONINE FOCUS. Leif joined Leonine Public Affairs 10 years ago and leads Leonine’s strategic counsel team helping corporate and trade association clients sharpen their state government affairs operations. Johnson is also currently the managing director of The Advocacy Group (TAG), the leading state and international association of government and public affairs professionals. TAG’s inter-firm network of independent companies consists of the best lobbyists, communicators and public affairs professionals in each state and country.
